Tanaka, Ryohei (1933- )
Born in Osaka prefecture, Tanaka Ryohei uses a technique that is a combination of etching and aquatint. His prints show nature subjects and landscapes from the rural area around Kyoto in Japan in fine lines and subtle gradations of mostly black, gray, white and brown colors. He is internationally acclaimed and his prints are found in the Achenbach Foundation in San Francisco and the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
