This print depicts the zen garden of the head temple of the Tofukuji School of the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism. This garden is in the front of the main building Hojo. It is the most contrived work among the four gardens at the temple and is composed of four rock-composites symbolizing Elysian islands. Style is Sumizuri-e (monochromatic woodblock).
