A delightful and colorful streetscene image. Children are flying kites. Japanese flags and traditional ornaments are displayed on the street near Yatsusaka hill in Kyoto on the New Year’s Day. Nene-no-Michi Lane near Yatsusaka, Kyoto on New Year’s Day (circa 1950). The rectangular shop sign reads tabako (tobacco). The round lantern sign could be a shop or Japanese inn sign and reads Sennari.
Format is Oban tate-e. Lightly hinged on the right margin to the original presentation mat Some water damage on lower mat and to the print near center of bottom edge (1″x2″). Soiling to margins.
