Passenger Boat on the Yodo River – Hiroshige, Utagawa

$364.00

This is a later Showa edition published by Takamizawa about 1937.  This charming print shows a full moon shining above a boat in a deep blue river with passengers sitting under a thatched roof.  Three pole men are moving the boat through the water.  A smaller boat is tied alongside the passenger boat with a cook preparing food for the passengers.  Hiroshige draws fascinating people with small but interesting details.

Print is attached at the top to the original mat backing with seal from the publisher. Good condition with some age toning.  Margins are smaller on sides than top & bottom.
