This is number 25 in the series Scenes of Sacred Places and Historic Landmarks. It also appears in the series The Eight Views of Japan. Great Buddha of Kotoku-in temple in Kamakura, Soshu province. With the height of 13.35 meters, it is the second highest Buddha statue in Japan. The temple compound which had housed the Buddha was swept away by the great tsunami in 1495. But the venerable Buddha has remained here to oversee a million visitors every year.
Format is Oban yoko-e. Small printer smudge in lower left corner. Small crease in upper right margin. Otherwise, no problems or flaws of note.
